The Coalition held a table at Belvidere High School on Halloween to educate teens on staying free from tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. Thanks to the many students who stopped by to talk to! It was a lot of fun.

The Coalition gave a presentation on October 26th for Red Ribbon Week to North Boone Upper Elementary and Middle Schools. Students took a pledge to stay free from drug use and learn all they can in school. Thanks to our State's Attorney fro a great presentation!

The Coalition's Hidden In Plain Sight display was open at the Belvidere North High School Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 13, 2016. It's purpose is to educate parents on signs that a teen may be using tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs. Hidden in Plain Sight
Thanks to all who visited our display at the Boone County Fair. Hidden in Plain Sight is a mock teen bedroom filled with warning signs of youth alcohol or other drug use. If you are interested in having this display at your event or location, simply go to the contact page and let us know what you need.

The Coalition has received a $500 grant from the Boone County Community Foundation to implement a communication campaign aimed at reducing youth substance use.
Our thanks go to the Boone County Community Foundation for their dedication to the prevention of youth substance use and for the resources to assist us in carrying our message to all Boone County citizens.

Providing alcohol to a minor will cost you a minimum of a $500 and up to $25,000 and 3 years in prison.

A prescription drug disposal bin is now available at the Public Safety Building. With the help of Crimestoppers and CVS pharmacy, the Boone County Drug Prevention Coalition (BCDPC) installed the bin in order to keep prescription drugs out of the hands of Boone County youth. It is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. It is located in the lobby of the Public Safety Building at 615 N Main St in Belvidere.
